KOLUMBUS LANGUAGE CLUB was founded in 1997 as a private language school offering non-traditional teaching of the English, German, Spanish language and Czech for foreigners. In 1998, KLC expanded its services and opened its first English preschool KRYŠTOF, the second preschool was opened in 2003. KRYŠTOF English Preschool offers all-day high-quality care for children at the age of 2,5 – 7 in a safe and motivating environment with native speakers.
In 2001, we opened KRYŠTOF CLUB JUNIOR -a language teaching programme for children and young students at the age 6 – 18 presented by native speakers. In 2008, preparatory courses for international exams KET, PET and FCE were included into this programme.
English programme suitable for the age of children and a team of enthusiastic, committed and qualified teachers guarantee creating a positive attitude of a child to the English language and learning.
Our programmes take into account the uniqueness of each individual – a little and a big one. It is based not only on vast experience gained during many years of teaching but also on a language education of both owners (university degree from the Department of German Studies). We try to support our clients in their uniqueness, and as for children – we create close relationship between family and preschool, which makes this support even stronger.
We want to provide friendly and interactive environment which stimulates curiosity, creativity, social and professional growth and it leads to independent thinking.
The teaching programme at KRYŠTOF is based on Primary English Curriculum Framework (PECF), made for the needs of children at preschool age. This basis is necessary for natural and successful transition of a child to bilingual and international schools.
The programme KRYŠTOF CLUB JUNIORhas the same basis (PECF). Individual and friendly approach of a teacher breaks the language barrier and motivates to understand quickly and to use the language. Big emphasis is laid on reading from the beginning.
As for our adult clients - we try to stimulate their creativity and from their point of view bring back long forgotten knowledge which is then expanded and the client starts to really use the language this way.
During all our activities we protect the environment not only by strict garbage recycling but also by energy saving and using recycled and recyclable materials.
